Questions
Every organisation and team has different communication needs, so choosing the right training naturally raises questions. Here you’ll find practical information about how the training works, how programmes are tailored to different roles and professional contexts, and what your organisation and participants can expect. If your question isn’t covered here, you’re always welcome to ask me directly.
Everything you need to know before we start working together
Who is your training designed for?
The training is designed for professionals who use English in international working environments. I have particular expertise in HR and Legal, reflecting my background in Law and Human Resources Management, and also work with professionals in Finance, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, Engineering, Operations and Management. Each programme is adapted to the participant’s role, industry and communication needs.
Can you design training for a specific team or business need?
Yes. Programmes are designed around the communication situations participants actually encounter at work. This might mean improving international meetings across a team, helping managers communicate more effectively across cultures, strengthening a department’s professional vocabulary, or preparing employees for a particular project or organisational change.
Can training be tailored to our industry and roles?
Absolutely. Sessions can incorporate the terminology, documents and communication situations relevant to your organisation, industry and participants’ roles. The aim is to develop English that can be applied directly at work, rather than learning professional language in isolation.
Can training focus on an upcoming presentation, negotiation or important meeting?
Yes. Training can be built around an immediate professional challenge, such as a presentation, negotiation, international meeting, conference or interview. We can work directly with the language, documents and situations involved so that the preparation is immediately relevant.
Can you work alongside our HR or L&D team?
Yes. I work directly with HR, L&D and managers to identify needs, define objectives and adapt the programme as it develops. Regular communication helps ensure that the training remains aligned with both participant needs and organisational priorities.
Do you work with individuals, teams or both?
Both. I work with individual professionals, small groups and teams. Companies can commission one-to-one training for employees with specific communication needs or programmes for groups with shared objectives. Individual professionals can also work with me directly.
What's the format — online, in person, or both?
All three. Sessions can take place online via Microsoft Teams, in person, or in a blended format, depending on your organisation’s needs and where participants are based.
What level of English do participants need to start training?
No specific starting level is required. Before the programme begins, participants’ current English level and communication needs are assessed so that objectives and content can be adapted accordingly. For group training, participants can be grouped by level and professional needs where appropriate, helping ensure that the training remains relevant and effective for everyone involved.
How much does it cost?
Every programme is tailored, so pricing depends on the format, number of participants, objectives and duration. Training can be commissioned directly by companies or arranged for individual professionals. After a short discovery call, I’ll provide a clear, no-obligation proposal and quote.
How long does it take to see progress in professional English?
It depends on participants’ starting levels, objectives and how much they use English between sessions. In professional English, progress can be highly targeted: participants may become more confident and effective in meetings, presentations or other workplace situations without necessarily moving to a new CEFR level. Broader progress in General English usually takes considerably longer. Cambridge English estimates around 200 guided learning hours to progress from one CEFR level to the next, although this varies considerably between learners. You can read more about Cambridge English’s estimates. If you’d like to discuss what would be realistic for your team or organisation, please get in touch.
How is progress measured?
Clear communication objectives are defined at the start of each programme and progress is reviewed throughout. Depending on the objectives, this may include language assessment, structured feedback, recorded speaking tasks and participant self-assessment, alongside practical outcomes such as greater confidence, accuracy and effectiveness in real professional situations.
Do you use AI in your training?
Yes, where it adds genuine learning value. AI can provide additional opportunities for practice, simulations and self-study between sessions, while personalised trainer feedback ensures that learning remains accurate and relevant to each participant’s professional context. AI supports the training rather than replacing trainer-led analysis, feedback and interaction.
Do you offer preparation for English certification exams?
Yes. I prepare candidates for TOEIC, Linguaskill Business and TOLES, combining exam-focused preparation with the communication skills relevant to their professional context.
Can training be funded through the CPF in France?
For participants in France, CPF funding may be possible. I am not directly registered on Mon Compte Formation, but I work with Qualiopi-certified training organisations. Where appropriate, training can therefore be organised through an eligible partner organisation and funded through the participant’s CPF, subject to the programme meeting CPF eligibility requirements. Please contact me to discuss the options available for your organisation or employees.
What's the first step?
Book a discovery call. We’ll discuss your organisation’s training needs, the professionals involved and the communication challenges they face. I’ll then recommend an appropriate format and approach and provide a clear, no-obligation proposal. Individual professionals are equally welcome to contact me about their own training needs.
